This is a set of Nakabori Tsume Koma (carved tsuge chess pieces) made by Kazuki. These pieces are made from Mikura Boxwood. I purchased them about 30 years ago but never used them because I wanted to preserve them. They are unopened and unused.

Kazuki (real name: Shigeo Kunii) was a master komashi (chess piece craftsman) from Yamagata Prefecture. Yasuharu Oyama, the 15th Meijin, introduced him in his book "My Encounters and Friendships: 65 Years" as "Kazuki, a master komashi who burned out his life making chess pieces, leaving his works in the Shogi Museum."

The original paulownia wood box and cardboard outer box from when I purchased them are also included. The pieces themselves are unopened and unused, so they are new. However, the wooden box and outer box have some stains due to long-term storage at home (please refer to the photos).

Please understand that the boxes are used items before purchasing.
